Avalon Park Group Named Winner of Florida Education Commissioner’s Business Recognition Award for Orange County Public Schools
ORLANDO, Fla. --- Avalon Park Group, developer of Avalon Park in east Orlando, was recently named the Orange County Public Schools District Winner of the Florida Department of Education’s Commissioner’s Business Recognition Award.
Beat Kähli, who heads Avalon Park Group, said the Florida Department of Education will make a formal presentation of the statewide award at a ceremony scheduled for April 16 at the Hilton Daytona Beach Oceanfront Resort in Daytona Beach.
Orange County Public Schools will conduct a second formal presentation at its Community Resource Recognition Event on May 1 at SeaWorld.
Kähli is a frequent contributor to Orange County Schools special projects.
Last August, Kahli contributed $20,000 to fund specialized state-of-the-art projection systems for six classrooms that link overhead projectors with computer screens to allow students and teachers to capture audio and video clips and interact with educational programs to assess student mastery of skills.
Kähli contributed $50,000 to help fund a summer staff development program in Europe, escorting 25 Avalon Park Elementary School teachers and staff in Zurich, Switzerland, for school visits and meetings with teachers and administrators.
