Avalon Park Group to Bring New Mixed-use Community to Daytona Beach

Avalon Park Daytona to span over 2,500 acres with a residential and commercial master planned community

Avalon Park, Fla. (December 9, 2019) – One of the state’s best-known live, learn, work and play communities is coming to Daytona Beach.

Avalon Park Group/sitEX, which set the standard for mixed-use developments with its signature Avalon Park in Orlando, has entered into a purchase agreement to develop more than 2,500 acres in a new Avalon Park in Daytona Beach on land currently owned by Consolidated- Tomoka Land Co [NYSE:CTO] on State Road 40, just west of Interstate 95, next to Latitude Margaritaville.

“This property gives us a great canvas to create a place where people can find everything they need in every stage of their lives,” says Beat Kahli, CEO, Avalon Park Group/sitEX. “When complete, Avalon Park Daytona will be a destination the city and the area will be proud.”

When complete, Avalon Park Daytona will be a master planned community with both commercial and residential options.  It will encompass more than 2,500 acres and will add over $2 billion in ad valorem value to the city and county and be home to more than 10,000 residents and truly be the place to live, learn, work and play in Daytona Beach.

Avalon Park Group/sitEX will work closely with local governments, as it historically has done, to ensure its community maintains high standards for infrastructure, transportation and education. Since inception, Avalon Park Group/sitEX has invested more than $100 million into public/private partnerships to build roads, schools and community amenities.

“Our residents are proud to call Avalon Park home and that includes having the best roads and schools of any development,” Kahli says. “We are confident the residents of Avalon Park Daytona will be proud of this as well.”

Avalon Park is widely known as one of the first three developers of the live, learn work and play concept in Central Florida.  With construction starting in 1998 around the same time as Disney’s Celebration development and Orlando’s Baldwin Park, Avalon Park is considered the largest of this type of development in Central Florida.  Originally part of a parcel comprised of 9,400 acres, the commercial and residential components of Avalon Park are now over 1,800 acres, while the other 8,000 acres have been preserved as the Hal Scott Preserve.  Documented as the fastest selling community in Central Florida for several years, the Avalon area continues to spur growth around the area and is home to more than 60,000 residents, over 100 businesses and has created over 3,000 jobs.

Additionally, Avalon Park Group/sitEX, are developing in the state of Florida, Avalon Park Wesley Chapel, just north of Tampa and Avalon Park Tavares with the same design principals.

“Over the years, we have worked with thousands of people who want the atmosphere of a small town, where they can walk to the store and to a restaurant, but still be connected to a larger metropolitan area,” Kahli says. “Avalon Park’s developments have proven to be successful because we give our residents everything they need, next to where they live.”
